Arboriculture Done Properly, From Survey to Completion

Treetex was founded with a straightforward conviction: that arboricultural work should be led by qualified professionals who understand trees, not just how to cut them. Every project we take on — from a single-tree removal to a long-term local authority highway tree programme — is approached with the same combination of technical knowledge, planning, and care.

Our team includes NPTC-qualified tree surgeons, experienced climbing arborists, and ground operatives trained in manual handling, chainsaw operation, and traffic management. For projects requiring planning authority input or formal risk assessment, our qualified consultants produce BS 5837:2012 tree surveys and Arboricultural Impact Assessments to the standard that local planning authorities expect.

Our operatives hold the qualifications that matter for safe, professional, and legally compliant tree work — not just the minimum required, but the full range appropriate to each task and environment.

Climbing

NPTC / City & Guilds Units

All climbing arborists hold relevant NPTC/CS units including CS30 (felling small trees), CS31 (aerial tree work), and CS38 (climbing and rescue), meeting the recognised baseline for qualified tree surgery in the UK.

Chainsaw

Chainsaw Operator Certificates

Ground-based chainsaw operatives hold the appropriate NPTC certificates for crosscutting, felling, and processing. Working without chainsaw certification is not something Treetex permits on any contract, regardless of scale.

Surveys

BS 5837:2012 Tree Surveys

For planning applications, our consultants produce BS 5837:2012 compliant tree surveys including tree constraints plans, protection zone specifications, and Arboricultural Method Statements accepted by local planning authorities.

Traffic

Chapter 8 Traffic Management

Highway and roadside tree work requires Chapter 8 traffic management. Our supervisors hold the relevant LANTRA Award, enabling us to set up and manage appropriate signing and guarding for carriageway operations.

Safety

IPAF & Working at Height

Where aerial platforms are used alongside climbing operations, our operators hold IPAF licences and have been trained in the specifics of working at height safely under WAHR 2005 requirements.

First Aid

Forestry First Aid

All working teams include at least one operative trained in forestry first aid, providing the immediate response capability required by our risk assessments and by the nature of the environments in which we operate.

Treetex does not take a cut-first approach. We assess before we act. For anything beyond routine maintenance, that means a site visit, a condition assessment, and a clear written specification agreed with the client before any operative sets foot near a tree.

This process protects trees that should not be removed, protects our clients from planning compliance failures, and ensures that every piece of work we do is the right piece of work — not just the work that was easiest to quote.

Specification & Method Statement

Written scope of works, method statement, risk assessment, and traffic management plan where required.

Qualified Crew Deployment

NPTC-qualified operatives, appropriate equipment, and a named supervisor accountable for safe delivery.

Completion & Reporting

Site clean-up, waste removal, completion documentation, and post-work reporting for council or planning records where applicable.

Storm Damage & Dangerous Trees: We Respond When It Matters

Storm-damaged trees and dangerous limbs don’t respect office hours. Treetex operates an emergency call-out service for storm-damaged or dangerous tree situations, providing qualified arborists who can assess risk, make safe, and carry out emergency works under the pressure of live incidents.

We hold emergency response arrangements with several local authorities and highways clients, providing confidence that a qualified, insured, and equipped team will respond promptly when conditions deteriorate.
